About the New Hera project
The New Hera project is born in the middle of a global crisis that has further highlighted the need to improve the digital and pedagogical competencies of educators.
The NEW HERA project aims to enhance and upskill the VET trainers and teacher’s competencies to better assess and communicate with their students through the existing e-learning platforms, transforming the face-to-face training schemes into high-quality online VET curricula.
The NEW HERA project concrete objectives are:
Increase and improve the knowledge of VET teachers and trainers in the curricula planning, assessment methods, content mediatization and design, of their training plans in the online mode.
Improve the quality standards and effectiveness of the VET online plans and courses.
Enrich the e-learning experience of VET trainees and students offering them attractive content, real assessments, and real-life experiences in their online training curricula.
Improve the VET organizations' management providing them tools and instruments for a better internal organization and resources management.
Target Groups: Who will benefit?
The main target groups of the New Hera project are:
- VET trainers and teachers of the partner organizations and/or territories. VET Trainers and teachers are the main target group of the project. They will have the opportunity to improve or acquire competencies in the use of digital tools for training planning, assessment online procedures, content design and mediatization. They will learn the differences between classical face-to-face training and e-learning methods. This way, they will be able to transform their training courses into interactive knowledge that students will be able to better understand and acquire.
- Trainers for VET teachers and trainers. Trainers of VET teachers will also benefit from the results and products of the project. They will have at their disposal a toolkit with the best valued pedagogical tools that they will be able to improve and adapt into their training courses to the VET different specificities and LMS platforms.
- Apprentice tutors (mentors) in companies. Company tutors offer apprentices the opportunity to learn directly from experience. They are the first ones to be at their side in their first work experiences. Even if some of this experience can, in some cases, only be acquired in the face-to-face modality, much of this knowledge can be transformed into tutorials, interactive manuals, virtual tours, and other interesting tools that mentors can learn to manage.
- VET Students and trainees. VET students and trainees are indirect beneficiaries of the New Hera project results. They will be the beneficiaries of the online training lessons that teachers will be able to build. A clearer and more effective transmission of knowledge will result in better trained and prepared students for their professional futures.
- LMS platforms developers. LMS platform developers will be able to better understand VET teachers' and trainers' needs in order to adapt the LMS platform structures to these requirements enhancing the e-learning experience.
