GIP FORMATION ET INSERTION PROFESSIONNELLES DE L’ ACADEMIE DE NICE
The GIP FIPAN (Public Interest Group for Professional Training and Insertion of the Academy of Nice) is a GIP FCIP (Public Interest Grouping of Continuing Education and Professional Insertion) and is a legal entity under public law in the service of Lifelong training.
Created in 2002, the GIP FIPAN is the management and development tool at the service of the policy of the rector of the Academy of Nice and its mission is the development of concerted cooperation at the level of the Academy in the field of continuing education for adults and professional integration.
The GIP FIPAN operates on its own funds by responding to contracts linked to training for a volume of activities of 7 million euros in 2019.
The total funds for which it participates in management and operationality was 24 million in 2019. The GIP FIPAN has specific functions:
- Consulting in human resources management and marketing of training courses for the benefit of companies.
- Information and support towards the validation of prior learning (VAE) for National Education diplomas.
- Implementation of the training plan for the professionalization of continuing education personnel at the Académie de Nice.
- Research, development, and implementation of national, European, and international projects related to the themes of integration and lifelong training
- Management, development, and implementation of learning in all the establishments of the Academy of Nice. More specifically, the GIP FIPAN is made up of:
- RDI pole: international research and development which focuses on finding opportunities and developing innovative solutions in the field of training, employment, and integration for the GRETA network. RDI currently manages and coordinates 22 European projects (Erasmus + Interreg Alcotra, Marittimo, Alpine Space) and is made up of a team of 8 people with a decidedly international profile.
- The VAE pole: Validation of acquired experience. It is the DAVA (Academic Device for Validation of Acquired Experience) which is in charge of VAE. Its mission is to inform users about all the procedures and the various possible certifications. It also has a mission to support candidates in writing booklets 2, advice, and preparation for the oral interview in front of the jury.
- the Apprenticeship center: the 3 public CFAs of the Académie de Nice are grouped together within the Regional Apprenticeship Training Center of the Académie de Nice (CFARAN). The CFA is the training organization aimed at young apprentices aged 15 to 29 and, in partnership with the company, provides general, technological, and practical training allowing them to acquire a CAP to Bac +5 diploma. Work-study contracts can be done either in mixed public: training of pupils or apprentices in initial training under school status or by apprenticeship and/or trainees of continuing training or in a grouping, in the same training, of pupils, apprentices and adult trainees in an EPLE (Local Public Education Establishment).
SYNTHESIS CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION
SYNTHESIS is the main driving force in the efforts to develop the ecosystem of social SMEs in Cyprus (active in cultural, social and environmental fields), and was the first organisation in the country that has worked to promote the field of social entrepreneurship, organising in 2010 the first Conference on Social Entrepreneurship.
Since then, it has organised and led numerous European Conferences, seminars, training workshops and events with the aim of raising public awareness of the field of social entrepreneurship and the potential of SMEs to impact positive social change, adhering to the principles of sustainability, inclusion and innovation.
In 2015, SYNTHESIS founded and manages Hub Nicosia, an educational centre and a community of organisations with cultural, environmental and social aims. SYNTHESIS is an intermediate organisation of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme offering training and mentoring opportunities to new and aspiring entrepreneurs across Europe. In 2021, within the ESF+ programme, SYNTHESIS became the Social Innovation Competence Center in Cyprus.
As an adult education provider and an accredited VET institution, SYNTHESIS focuses on the development of training programmes that enhance entrepreneurial skills of people with fewer opportunities, particularly refugees and asylum seekers, NEET youth, unemployed individuals, women, elderly. Furthermore, SYNTHESIS offers training and develops educational materials relevant to social entrepreneurship and acquisition of entrepreneurial skills since early age.
SYNTHESIS is currently delivering an action programme for refugees and asylum seekers, consisting of language courses, professional training as well as entrepreneurial and soft skills development. SYNTHESIS holds recognised experience in Research, Policy and Evaluation, as it has been providing services to the European Commission, governmental, non-governmental and private institutions. Its research interests are primarily the fields of social innovation, social entrepreneurship, sustainable development, design thinking, inclusive education, and technology-enhanced learning.
In 2017, the European Commission entrusted SYNTHESIS to develop the Policy recommendations for the development of an ecosystem of social enterprises in Cyprus on behalf of the Government of Cyprus; while in the following year, it produced the study “A Map of Social Enterprises and their Ecosystem in Europe: Cyprus country report” which was published by the European Commission. SYNTHESIS has nearly 20 years of experience in European cooperation.

Exeo Lab’s founding partners and team are involved in more than 15 years in the design and implementation of territorial development strategies, as well as National/European funded projects in the domains of entrepreneurship, research, training, selfemployment, emerging businesses, social and work inclusion, migrants’integration, school and education, tourism and culture. The organisation actively participates in several thematic networks, both at national and international level, and over time has developed an impressive network of collaborations with organisations of various kinds (universities, governmental bodies, innovative companies and NGOs) active in different sectors and especially in the education field.
THE SQUARE DOT TEAM
The Square Dot team is an SME located in Leuven, Belgium committed to tackle societal challenges through tailor-made policy advice. In this context, the Square Dot team aims to develop research and provide policy advice with the view to enrich public policy with tailor-made, innovative and socially responsible solutions in the following areas:
- Policy research: Policy analysis including research in the field of education, labour mobility, migration and integration of vulnerable groups into the labour market, entrepreneurship, innovation, digitalization, employment and skills, culture and heritage.
- Project branding and dissemination activities including the design of project branding, dissemination events and monitoring, set up and monitoring for project social media, event organization and stakeholder consultations, awareness-raising activities.
- Project delivery and business development including consortium set-up and management; project management; quality assurance; planning and administrative work, development of conceptual & methodological frameworks, project implementation; partnership-building facilitation in the areas of EU public procurement and grants.
- Career coaching and Business mentoring to individuals who want to design a better career path or become independent and organisations that want to maintain high-performance and explore EU funding opportunities as well as entrepreneurship trainings tailored made to the needs of the different target groups.
